EXCELLENT with Distinction

                                                 
The Ohio Department of Education has issued a state report card rating of EXCELLENT with DISTINCTION to Crestview Local Schools for the 2011-2012 school year.  This is the fourth consecutive year that Crestview local Schools has earned a rating of EXCELLENT or better.  This is the second year in a row that Crestview has earned the "Excellent with Distinction" rating

We are very pleased to have achieved this level of success and share this accomplishment with our community, students, administrators, and especially our teachers.  For without the efforts of everyone this designation of EXCELLENT would not have been possible.

To help you better understand how the ODE determines the district’s rating I’ve included the following four measures:

Measure #1 – State indicators – Currently there are 26 state indicators ranging from test scores at various grade levels to attendance and graduation rates.  Crestview met 26/26 Indicators...100%

Measure #2 – Performance Index – This measure rewards the achievement of every student through the use of testing data.  Crestview Performance index for 2011-2012 was 101.6.  A performance index of 100 or above is considered Excellent.

Measure #3 – Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) – is a federally required measure that focuses on reading and math as well as attendance and graduation rate.  Crestview Met the AYP requirement again this year.

Measure #4 – Value-added Measure – This measure reflects how much progress each student has made from one year to the next.  Crestview has been rated above expected growth for two of the past 3 years.

While we are extremely proud of our accomplishments as a district and as individual buildings we are determined not to rest on our laurels.  It is imperative that we strive for EXCELLENCE every single year to meet the needs of all of our students providing an education that you can be proud of!
